UltraBooks to watch out for in 2012!!

Ultrabooks are the new ubiquitous standard of modern day life. But if you are planning to buy Ultrabooks now, wait a bit because 2012 seems to be the year with lots of options in queue. Here are few choices which you can expect this year:

·         HP Envy 14 Spectre: The elegant MacBook carbon copy seems to be the perfect option for those who want an elegant APPLE stereotype, without the need to switch to MAC OS X. A familiar Windows 7 touch with a MacBook style, this little power house is sure to attract a lot of eyeballs.

Verdict: The best in the business along with Macbook Air. Beats Audio is surely the icing on the cake. Go for it, if spending some more bucks is not a concern for you!!

·         Dell XPS 13: The 13 inch version of XPS series is indeed the early steps of Dell towards UltraBooks category apart from the premium ADAMO series. The Gorilla glass covered edge to edge design is sure to attract a lot of customers along with its price in the bracket of 50,000-60,000.

Verdict: Go for it!! An XPS with an UltraBook look is hard to get. Along with such a price tag of 50,000-60,000, there is nothing to lose.

·         Acer Aspire S5: This new sleek-y beauty from Acer has an elegant magnesium finish along with HDMI, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt.

Verdict: Acer’s Aspire S5 has a hard competition from the other folks. But the price of 50,000-60,000 gives it a clear edge.

·         Samsung Series 9: The sleek-y Series 9 although has a feel of elegant Ultrabooks, but still the name of Samsung will serve as a stopper for the Indian consumers (More than 70000 for a Samsung laptop!! You gotta be kidding me!! Why not a Macbook Air for the same price!!)

Verdict: Killer looks along with a premium tag goes well with Apple. But same strategy for SAMUNG LAPTOPS!!! Skeptical!

·         Lenovo Idea Pad: This seems to be the one the most awaited Ultrabooks. May be not due to the most innovative design, but for the newest version of Windows OS, Windows 8. Let’s see what’s in store!

Verdict:  Wait till it hits the market.

·         MacBook Air: Finally the father of all UltraBooks. Rumors are ripe that this year it will be a 15 inch MacBook Air. Although the price is expected to be over 80,000 – 90,000 for the Indian customers, lets see what Apple’s pricing has in store for Indian customer (Don’t forget iPhone 4s costs 44,000!!!).

Verdict:  If you are a video editor or a multimedia expert or an Apple fan boy this is your dreamed possession. Otherwise you can spend a lot less dough to get the same specification (obviously you can not get the OS!).

·         HP Folio 13: The UltraBook for business customers. The slim formal looks with a whopping 9.5 hours battery life is surely an eye catcher. The price range (50,000-60,000) also seems to be the added specification.

Verdict: Go for it!! Give a second thought only if you are a Multimedia Professional or an Apple Fan boy or you want to impress someone!!

What to go for:
